Can the iPhone 7 Plus Hit a Home Run for Apple?
Rumors circulate more than people talk on their iPhones when new phones are featured in the marketplace. It is believed that Apple is poised to launch new iPhones in September 2016 – either two or three of the phones will make a debut.
Launches of the iPhone & and iPhone 7 Plus – When to Expect It
In March 2016, Apple introduced the 4-inch iPhone SE to the marketplace. When a phone is launched, mobile phone users and developers, in turn, typically start wondering about the phones yet to emerge. At this point, the launch of the new iPhones, as stated, will probably be in autumn.
September has always been the traditional month for launching cell phones. Therefore, in September, industry professionals and mobile phone users can expect to see the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus featured on the mobile horizon. The new phones are expected to be even thinner and streamlined in design.
Predictions for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
While the battery life, for instance, may be enhanced in the iPhone 7 Plus, Apple does not necessarily consider a longer battery life to be the most important feature. A higher screen resolution may be possible too; however, the advance may not make much of an impact, unless it is featured on the 4.7”” unit, which would increase the pixel density to that of the Plus model. In all probability, the resolution will remain the same as it is for the 6s and 6s Plus models.
What would be nice is if Apple would offer more storage space. For current consumers, 16GB just does not cut it. Hopefully, the iPhone 7 and 7Plus will have about twice the storage with added 64GB or 128GB options. Current rumors suggest that Apple will phase out the 16GB model and feature a base model with 32GB of storage.
Other rumors indicate that a USB-C port is unlikely as is a 3D screen or curve display. An edge-to-edge screen however would keep the technology competitive. Wireless charging is possibly another feature that will appear on the new model phones as is better water-resistance.
The launch of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will remain a mystery until about the fall of 2016. Usually, Apple announces two iPhone releases simultaneously at a September press event. Afterwards, the new phones will go on sale about 7 to 10 days later.
Now the salient question – “Can the new iPhone 7 Plus hit a home run for Apple? While the upgrade will signify an improvement over past iPhones, it will probably maintain its popular status without any kind of fireworks. (No home run this year for the iPhone but certainly a standout performance.)
